Why Baby Boy Bedding ?

You need to make this activity of finding the right baby boy bedding more fun because this is how it needs to be. If you consider it a problem or something hard to do, you will not achieve the best bedding that your boy could have and the time consumed will be in vain simply because it will get harder and harder to make a decision as the time passes by second after second, minute after minute.

The sleeping time is probably the most important part of your little’s life because at the beginning the sleep will develop them and offer them a new start everyday.

If you’ve looked everywhere around and you found nothing, don’t worry, I am here for help and that’s what I’m going to do a little lower.

Baby Boy Bedding Basics

Many people will take some recommendations that they get for granted. There are certain aspects that need to be considered in determining your baby boy bedding and they start from the most important to lower :

  • Materials that are used
  • Color of the toddler bedding
  • Size of the crib
  • Fitted sheet

Taking them in the order of importance, the materials that your bedding could be are made from cotton, polyester, wool, down, silk or some combination of other type of materials.

In case you don’t know if your baby has allergies, you might want to try cotton or wool for the first time, it all depends on the personal climate.

For the size of the baby crib bedding, I would consider and recommend one that just fits. It doesn’t need to be too small or too large, you need one in which your baby is comfortable.

For color, almost everyone will tell you that blue goes fine with anything but you have to take into consideration that you can blend the colors depending on what accessories you will acquire with the bed. ( accessories like dinosaurs, space ships, planets, stars, regular air planes etc. ).

I would give you something to think about: why the color black isn’t very used or almost non existent in baby boy bedding ?

It isn’t bought because people want to stimulate the emotions of their baby with nice/bright colors and avoid black colors. During the infancy stage the babies have their emotions close to their development and imagination is an important part of a healthy baby development.

Light colors for baby boy bedding are used because the environment will be more relaxing for the baby. The different accessories that will be implemented with the bedding are important for the development of the baby ( wondering why you won’t see ugly signs, shapes or negative orientated symbols/colors/toys ? ).

Some nice toys that will come awesome with your baby boy bedding are teddy bears, cute stuffed animals, polka dots and other cute and positive orientated toys.

A good practice would be to develop your baby’s inventory with many type of toys because variation is important for a baby. They get to see many different things, experiment more and also develop better.

Because a baby is so vulnerable in their early stages, it is important to chose a bedding that will not smother them even by some weird accident. Avoid crib bedding set or beds that could possibly entangle easily.

A nice checklist for your baby boy bedding would be:

  • Avoid sharp edges
  • Avoid splintered spindles
  • Look after loose or broken screws, bolts or anything that can potentially harm your kid
  • Check for smoothness in the wood surfaces
  • Is the bedding stable ?
  • No cutout designs

Knowing all these, you should be able to make your baby boy bedding the right way.

The Great Variety of Nautical Bedding

by Sarah Fidea on April 5, 2012

Nautical Bedding – Strong Personality ?

People’s surroundings usually point out to their tastes and shades of personality. Some prefer simple, some coloured and detailed and some prefer themes, which can often be expressed through their choice of bedding. For those sea fairing personalities, the best choice for a fulfilling sleep would be nautical bedding.

Themed decor items have become increasingly popular because it clearly shows the person’s taste, without being ambiguous. This bedding has a special way of doing this, as at first glance it is very visual and striking. Its particular name comes from the sea, ocean and beach themed decoration patterns. The variety of patterns is multiple. As these create an immediate and dominating effect, in accordance with what atmosphere you want there are a few categories of patterns from which to choose.

Classic nautical themes are of course among the most common. These include aged sea or ocean side scenes often featuring light houses or old sail boats. Sunsets and sunrises by the sea also give a great feeling when waking up or just waiting to go to sleep. These themes can be featured on the whole quilt or sheet or in a stylised way on parts of it. For the more modern type, there is an array of simpler designs which include marine inspired signs and motifs on simple colour backgrounds, like sea shells, sea creatures like sea horses, fish, octopuses and coral, waves, boats, life preserves and anchors.

For those who are actual knowing sailors, patterns with sailing charts, maps of the coasts or technical items on a ship like rudders, speed control levels and such, are very welcome to provide reminders of past sea worthy experiences. Simple sea stripes are also an option. Nautical bedding can also incorporate real life looking sea scenes similar to photos. These are usually on the whole sheet or pillow case. And better yet, some manufacturers give you the option of customising your own bedding with sea themes snapshots.

Nautical Bedding – Popular Colors ?

Popular colours for these beds are light blue, navy, white, cream, yellow and red, used in different combinations, but the patriotic red, white and blue is the most common and appreciated combination, as are marine flags patterns. These bedding’s usually come in a tree piece set of sheet, quilt, and pillow case, but more luxurious sets come with dust ruffles, pillow shams and bed spreads.

This type of bedding can come in all standard sizes for single, double, king sized, toddler or baby beds and cribs. Materials also vary depending on what characteristics you want from cotton to polyester and everything in between. Prices for nautical bedding range from 99 dollars to as much as 200 if you want a high quality and complete bedding set. Some store are specialised in marine and oceanic themed sets, offering beside bedding other décor items such as lamps, carpets, paintings and more.

Nautical bedding is usually used for sea side houses, lake cabins or beach dwellings but if you are an avid all marine things enthusiast, you can have a set even if your home is far in mainland. It always has that soothing effect that a sea does by creating a waves and sea air effect by suggestive images. It is similar to having your bed five feet from the ocean.
